Sweet. I would love to try out the EMS. I’d be happy to let you try mine - but that’s a heck of a commute from Austin, TX to St. Paul, MN!

Enjoy! Still on the fence with mine but planning to try some pedals. Not ready to give up yet Don't give up! Below is a bit I wrote on TGP about the amp in response to someone who tried one in a shop for 15-20 minutes: "When I first got my EMS, I didn’t get an opportunity to really spend much time with it in the music store, and particularly I was definitely not able to crank it up. The other 2 amps that I had when I purchased it were an Orange Rockerverb 50 and a Dr. Z Stingray. And before that I’d had a bunch of different amps, but was never a Marshall connoisseur. So I bought the EMS, kind of on faith with my previous experience with Dr. Z amps. At first I was kind of underwhelmed. I think it had more to do with my inexperience with Marshall style amps, especially when compared to my other 2 amps, which are so vastly different. But I hung onto it, because I had to believe there was something worthwhile there. The short version, is that the EMS has become my favorite amplifier by far. I’ve had it now for I think two or three years, and I’ve really grown to love it. I’ve since compared it to many other Marshalls, and I am quite happy with the results. It can definitely cop all of those JTM 50, JMP 50 & JCM 800 tones it was designed to do. The key to the amp, IMO, is really tweaking the EQ and the Presence knobs for each “individual” type Marshall amps inside of it. I’m not surprised that if you only spent 20 minutes with the amp that you wouldn’t be able to coax all of the goodness out of it. I’m not trying to make excuses for the amp, but I think it really requires some time and effort. It did for me anyway. There was a point about 6 months after owning it when I considered getting rid of it, but I am so glad that I did not! I wish I’d had a video like Adam’s early on to help me dial in the amp - but I’m not sure that would’ve made much of a difference considering how particular the settings probably need to be depending on the guitar and pick ups that you’re using. TL;DR - I think it’s a great amp that requires some commitment and more intimate knowledge of your own gear to get the best out of it. Glad I took I that time!"

Thanks guys! Blows my mind that the set was advertised for 1849, couldn’t pass it up. A buddy of mine had the set when it came out and still has his cab. Sooo, that’s totally going to happen. When those are hooked up I’ll let you all know so you can open your windows and hear it, lol!

Congrats, when that popped up on GC I just had to walk away from it. I'm glad someone here picked it up.

With the amount of guitar I play I really don’t need another amp. However, I’d really love to have one of the Bluesbreaker combos in my basement. I’d even take one over the CAZ, I think.
Now, to rain on my own parade, I’d want a loop in it based on how I’d be running it, though. However, I think the 212 combo looks (and Im sure sounds) fantastic 😎

Man, this thing is a beast. It arrived in almost new condition and packed well from GC. As stated before, love how instant you can get 60’s, 70’s and 80’s Marshall tones. Got my Remedy, Antidote, and SRZ all in one with a nice master. It’s not a clone of those but sure is close enough. Marshall Jones is very satisfied!
Between the updated Zlux and the EMS there’s not much more I could ask for.

Actually, haven’t been motivated to upload anything and need to look into other options. Now might be a good time!!

Between the updated Zlux and the EMS there’s not much more I could ask for. I've found I really love playing the ems quiet and super clean, with the tube rectifier. I've kind of always had this thing in my head where I just want to plug into an amp sometimes and just play, nothing to play to, no effects, no time keeper, and just enjoy the sound of the guitar and the amp. The Ems does this in spades to me. Kind of like the ultimate bedroom amp and I don't think you would expect that from an amp like this. Next step is take that same sound and it can be louder than you'll ever need. Surprisingly to me, the tube rectifier really adds a lot of compression even with the amp low. If that's all the amp did, it would be all it needs to do and be great. But, there are a ton of other great tones in the amp depending on gain, volume and rectifier setting. And I don't know why, and I've said it before, but there's something with how it takes effects that just works like no other amp I've tried. Lastly, I might add that now that I have a few Z amps, I'm finding something congruent between them in that they just don't make one good sound that has to be dialed in specifically, but they all can make TONS of great and yet very different sounds in each amp. Maybe the MAZ is most like that in that there's kind of no way you'd think that an amp that makes THAT sound also makes THAT sound. They are just amazing amplifiers.
