I have started using my Brake Lite and have turned up some. I am running the Master about 1 and the Volume about 11:45 and using the volume on the guitar to control how clean the sound is. As good as the Master is on this amp I am finding that running the master higher with the Brake Lite is adding to the wonderful Z-Lux tone. I used to run the Master at about 9 to keep it down for the wife. Recently I have been playing the Les Paul.

I too find that many Zs just do sound more alive when you can get the master up. And that level is usually above 9 (o'clock).

While I don’t have a Z-Lux, I have found the judicious use of a BrakeLite unlocks more tones from a master volume amp (Remedy) while keeping volume controlled. I like the master around 2 o’clock as the power amp really opens up there. ME

Tim Pierce has a video where he's playing a newer ac30 and has the master on 10. So I tried it with my ac15, into a di/ir and load box and what do you know, that amp sounds great like that. I wouldn't say that if I was going deaf at the same time though. Basically I think it's fun to experiment with that stuff

Right now my Master and Volume are both around 11:00. Half power switch at half. I like keeping the Volume up so it's around the edge of clean and breakup.

Yes I find that the volume around 11 - 12 puts you there on the edge of breakup. I find that I like to run full power on both my Z-Lux and Maz 38. LOL I guess I like loud!

I prefer full power on the Remedy as well. It adds a percussive edge to the note which I tend to prefer. Hard to go wrong no matter where you set the knobs (outside of zero! 😂😅😂🤣😅) ME
