Hey everyone
What is the recommended speaker for a Maz 38 head with reverb? I want to equip a 1x12 cabinet as an alternative to the Dr Z 2x12.
Thanks!

I hate to put words in Doc's mouth, but I'm pretty sure he'd say Celestion G12H-30 if it's a 1x12 for the MAZ 38. Personally, I think that's a great choice, but my favorite in that territory is more the G12K-100 (it's a bit smoother and not as loud as the H30).
[Yes, that speaker is only rated for 30 watts, but I've seen this done; just don't put everything on "10" and you'll be okay.]

I just got my Maz 38, Studio Deluxe. It has a Classic Lead 80. I don't know if this is original to what the Dr put in there as I'm not sure I've seen it as a option before. It sounds really good, but I would like to hear it with the G12H-30.

I'm a big fan of the Cream Alnico for the Maz 38.

My Maz 38 combo had a Celestion G12H-30. It sounded great and I believe it was the stock speaker.

H30’s werent common yet. He also occasionally shipped them with reconditioned EV SRO and Altec 417.. i think a few were even shipped with G12h100. the front loaded speakers generally have a stick on gasket set on the BACK of the speaker frame. Might want to procure a set before mounting a new front Loaded 12.

I realize the 38 is not quite the same as an 18, but I've really been liking the Vintage 30 with my Jr lately. Might be worth checking out too.
