I'm a few months in with a H9 max. I have to say I'm really impressed with it. I put it off for a long time because I wasn't sure if I'd have trouble figuring it all out. I'm not very technically savvy. It was a non issue. Simple simple. Never did I think I'd be controlling a pedal with my telephone, but here I am doing it lol. Once I got the hang of it I actually like sitting around exploring all the stuff it can do. Anyone else have one and really like it? I got the Barn3 switch for it, which really makes it work for me. I set it up with the two buttons on the Barn3 to bump up and down presets and instantly load. Works great. It's on the board for my rock amp:

I've never tried an H9 but I'm pretty sure it's amazing. I'm diggin that EVH Flanger though (I also have one and it gives my '79 gray box MXR a run for its money!)

Friend went that route a couple years back (he actually had two on his board). Sounded amazing but was a little clunky with changing/programming for how he was using them. He eventually moved on to Fractal then to Helix boards (very user friendly). But again the H9s always sound great, congrats!

I have one that I bought over the last couple months. Still mid-renovations so haven’t played with it much but I like that there are so many of the rack-mount type effects available in a pedal format. I really bought it only to have the pitch shifting effects but I like many of the reverbs and other modulation effects. I’ve seen recent videos comparing this to a rack mount H3000 and even though it might not get to that level of audio quality, it gets 85%-90% or so the way there and in a compact enclosure (vs rack mount ). I like the interface, too. Using the iPad is great to change programs is neat (in the studio or at home, anyway).

OMG, I freaked out and ran away years ago when I got a TC Electronic pedal that was customizable from my phone through my pickups. (Yikes!) LOL...
But I have to say, that H9 has intrigued me for a while. Just looks like it has one of those simple/intuitive (dare I say, Apple-ish in its simplicity) interfaces. Some amazing sounds in there I know, too.

I actually haven't even touched any of the buttons on the pedal yet, other than the on/off switches and preset up/down. I just use my phone to adjust, save, and move presets around in it. It's so easy. I really like doing it that way. Someday I should figure out how to use the knobs on the pedal though lol.

Mark, if you (or anyone) were curious I took a few screen shots on my phone. I put the H9 off for a long time out of fear it would be too complicated. Which turned out not to be the case. When I open the free app it looks like below. With the algorithms on the left column (up and down). It's all the pedals or effects Eventide makes. So you swipe up or down to roll through and find what effect you want. Then swipe right or left to scroll through the various presets. There are a lot of them! Most of the presets contain a patch with a few effects in it. So here I selected preset "1984legs" which is like a VH Drop Dead Legs sort of thing. It contains the Eventide harmonizer and delay. When you click the preset the screen below pops up on your phone or tablet. You touch the knob to activate it and then move it with your finger to adjust. Once you like the patch you click save and assign it a number. The knobs with the blue ring around them would be linked to an expression pedal if wanted. The blue rings can be assigned to whatever parameters you wanted control of. I noticed the biggest inconvenience is switching between presets. It is pretty clunky without an auxiliary switch. The left footswitch controls preset moves up and down. So it becomes a tap dance to change direction of its function, to scroll thought, and finally another click to load. To remedy that I got an auxiliary switch Barn Ox9 link which is made for the pedal. It is screwed to the bottom with the factory screw hole locations and has a plug built in that goes in the exp jack. I think it's pretty much essential to have an auxiliary switch for the H9. With the Ox9 the two footswitches can be configured many ways. I use them as preset down (left), and preset up (right). Set up this way one click advances the preset and instantly loads it. What I've done is set up blocks of 5. For instance 1-5 would be my hard rock stuff. I can easily go between those 5 patches with the up and down buttons on the Ox9. I have some harmonizer settings, some delay only settings, some plate reverb with a splash of delay and so on. Then 6-10 would be different effects for a different genre of music. Same with 10-15. And so on. Having the blocks makes it pretty easy as you can organize your presets any way you want. So I just have to get into the block of 5 for what songs I'll be playing. That way I dont have to try and shuffle thougt 15 presets to find one in the middle of a song. It could easily be configured for a set list that way too.

I'm diggin that EVH Flanger though (I also have one and it gives my '79 gray box MXR a run for its money!) Yeah, that's the same one I sent you last year to try out when some guys were doing the pedal swap thing around here. I remember you saying you liked it. Funny, I never really used it much till then. Then I gave it a whirl again and really liked it. The EVH setting is a little over the top, but has tons of cool dialed back sounds too. I really like it.
