Hello, I was searching for info on this but did not see any. Anyone know what each preamp tube position does in the Z Plus? V1, V2, etc. I am assuming the Reverb driver is the 12AT7 but would like to confirm that as well. Thanks in advance for any help!

If I recall:
V1: input gain stage, V2: cathode follower/gain stage, tone stack driver, V3: reverb recovery V4: power section driver

Is that for sure what v2 is? I was getting a weird crackling/static sound that seemed to get worse as the cut was turned up.
I rolled some tubes today and v2 was the culprit. It’s quiet as a mouse now and funnily enough my tele has 60 cycle hum again where it didn’t with the wonky tube. I actually didn’t even realize it wasn’t humming until I put in a good tube and it started.
Sounds incredible now but I’m wondering what v2 does, why it was affecting the cut knob, and why the hum was cut from my tele.

V1 input, V2 Tone stack driver, V3 reverb driver, v4 reverb recovery, v5 driver to output tubes.
