I had this amp for years and it's never done this (it was just there today) Is sounds like someone is sending morse code in there! Everything works fine, guitar sounds fine; but when it's on, there is an annoying clicking sound.
Tried plugging it in somewhere different - no help...make the sound when nothing is plugged in (not in standby mode)
What do I do - it's loud enough to be a problem...just like Morse code.
HELP PLEASE!!!

Heya, dickieg52 - Sorry to hear you're having issues! As always with troubleshooting, the first place I start is with the tubes. I'll usually step through each one and replace it with a suitable (even if only temporary), known-good substitute, trying to eliminate a problem child one at a time. Also, is there a correlation between the amp volume, and the "morse code"? Another thing that comes to mind is proximity of your cell phone. Is it anywhere near your amp? I know I get whacky sounds if I leave my iPhone on top of mine, but usually don't have a problem if it stays in my pocket. Hope that gives you a place to start. Oh, and in case you've not perused the Dr. Z site: drzamps.com/info/faq-troubleshoot/Good luck!

I have a mid-2019 Z-Lux (Mk II version) and have experienced clicking. As Scott says, move the cell phone away and see if that helps. I also discovered another source of this problem. After working out one day, I decided to give my fingers a work out; unfortunately my Z-Lux was clicking away. Turned out I left my Polar heart rate monitor strap on and this was causing it. So try to isolate the environment before you start messing with tubes. Good luck.

Problem was solved in another thread - turns out he had placed an "Alexa" device on top of the amp and it was creating the clicking.
