(the Junior features about halfway into the video) The Junior sounds great here, and makes me even prouder to own one!

Ha sorry Bradz, but when I saw this video, my first thought was that you guys were also gonna love this, so I just couldn't help myself! The still of this amp's settings looks little different to what's dialled-in on the amp in the background when Jeff McErlain is playing. Jeff appears to have the cut either around 9 or 3 o'clock as I can't work out what side the white line is pointing to, the master maxed out, bass rolled back to 9 o'clock, treble just over half way and the gain around 2 o'clock. I love how he works the guitar's volume as it really shows off how spectacular the clean up is, even with this amount of gain dialled in. Plus isn't that just the face of a man who's enjoying playing an incredible amp, he can't hold back that smirk

I can't get my Z Wreck Junior to sound anything like this. Probably just how the OX was set.

I can't get my Z Wreck Junior to sound anything like this. Probably just how the OX was set. What changes do you think are being introduced by the OX? Is it more than just the attenuation? I understand there's some speaker emulation software inside, so do you think this is what's happing here adam ? For this clip to make cinimod8791 amp not sound "anything like this", then there must be more to it than just the attenuation? I guess the OX is an easy way to run the Z Wreck though some different speakers (albeit only virtually), so maybe if you knew what speakers he had chosen, then if you loved the sound in the clip then you could buy that particular speaker and this would transform your amp into sounding like the clip... well, that and some industrial ear plugs

Probably just how the OX was set. What changes do you think are being introduced by the OX? Is it more than just the attenuation? I understand there's some speaker emulation software inside, so do you think this is what's happing here adam ? Good question, and to be honest and fair, I have no idea. I had an OX for a while and returned it. Not because it didn't do what it was supposed to, it just sounded nothing like the like gear and mics I have. For instance, I was running an Egnator SW-45 into it on the "plexi" channel with the amp cranked with a tele with their GB 4x12 and it was a fantastic sound, but it was NOTHING like the sound I get out of my Marshall 1960ax cab (greenbacks) with whatever mics I had chosen in the ox, and I have their standard fair of 57/421/121's. The real reason I returned it was just because I wanted the attenuator to work well, and I didn't like what it did to my amp sound. I tried a bunch of amps in that scenario. It just wasn't for me. So what does the ox do to the sound... I just don't know, all I know is it isn't what I hear when I use the same kind of stuff. There is some small amp builder out there who did this test with I think and old 50 Marshall cranked into the ox with that Van Halen preset and I'l be damned, that's the closest I've ever heard to that sound, and he could hardly play to boot. That sound in particular, it's using whatever their GB cab is, but he didn't just use an old GB cab, it had those jbl's in it and a couple 57's on it. So kind of that guy that got that sound, and none of the modeling part was accurate at all. Lastly, I love the UA stuff and have a ton of money into their interfaces and plugins, and I use them all the time. BUT, it just doesn't sound like the real thing. And not that it doesn't sound good, it's just nothing like the real thing to me. The amp simulations I think are the most obvious thing, like if that thing really sounds nothing like an amp, do you really think the preamp sounds like the real preamp? Same thing with the compressors, and you'll find tons of people a/b-ing say an la-2a plug to the real one and say they can't tell the difference. Last thing I did was try to make UA pultek plug sound like my hardware, and It was just so far off I was baffled. No matter where I set the controls, I couldn't come close to the hardware. The plug sort of has that character, but "sort of" is the operative word. Back to the point, to get THAT sound, you need THAT piece of gear. I guarantee Jeff was just dialing in the amp against what he was hearing through the OX, and unless you have an OX, your amp won't sound like what he came up with. When you say "I can't make my amp sound like that", it's only because the ox doesn't truly sound like that cab/mic to begin with.

Great reply adam thanks for taking the time to write that Most welcome and hope it's helpful in some way. Another comparison I can make is with ssl compressor. When I got the plug, I thought it was the bomb, until I got a real analog one.
