I have only played it for about an hour but so far I really like the updates. The amp does seem more balanced as described to me it would be, smoother highs and clearer lows... There is defiantly more going on with the reverb. I liked it before but it's defiantly more splashy now when cranked up. The new post phase inverter master volume is very nice as well. As for the new Black/Silver switch I find it subtle but you can defiantly hear and feel a difference. As described by others Silver mode is the original voicing and the Black mode seems a bit looser. As I mentioned before working with Z headquarters (Don) was very easy going with great communication. If you're on the fence with an earlier Z-Lux I highly recommend the updates but a Z-Lux either way is great amp.

Does the reverb only get splashier with the amp louder? Or is the splash there at lower volumes. Any improvement in the noise of the reverb? Hovin

Awesomeeeee. I’m still waiting for my invoice. Can’t wait to get the lux back home. Does the reverb only get splashier with the amp louder? Or is the splash there at lower volumes. Any improvement in the noise of the reverb? Hovin The reverb defiantly seems more splashy at lower volumes as well. I guess it could be described as a more Fender type sounding reverb even though I haven't touched a Fender amp in over a decade.... But yes defiantly more splash going on at all of the settings on the dial. The reverb noise seems all but gone on mine also even at higher settings so that is a bonus. The overall noise of the amp seems much quieter as well. I could be wrong but I think it was explained to me that the new post phase inverter master volume they put in it has a role in reducing noise in the amp and the reverb. Also in my basement home setting I would normally have the treble at about 8:30 with my tile floor going on and now I'm finding I am leaving it at around 10, so the highs while still very much there do seem smoother. I'm guessing if you liked the amp well enough to keep it as is you are really going to like the new updates. They take a great amp up another notch. After playing it a few more hours today I am really liking what Don did to my amp! Well worth it to me.

Yeah, I like mine better every time I play it. And I really like the Silver/Black switch, I dig both settings. The reverb is really improved IMO.

Oh happy day! Got my invoice and paid it off and got one of the new eqd foot switches too. Don is such a badass. Just a good dude. Took the time to talk a bit about the update and my m12 as well. I’m a z player for life.

Just shipped my early Z-Lux (SN 38098) off for the upgrades. Very much looking forward to hearing what everyone has been talking about re: reverb, black/silver switch, etc.

Most likely the new upgraded EQ bypass footswitch with the volume knob on the side to adjust the bypass volume with the non bypass volume. the 1st run switches did not have that.

It is the small box format with the knob on top and has the LED (which can be powered with either a battery or adapter) See the pics below. drzamps.com/product/maz18nr/

The switch bypasses the tone stack but I think of the knob as more of a level control. Thought you were saying there was one that also had some sort of tone control. Thanks for clarifying.
