I started using the Ox spdif connection for my recordings a while back. I use the analog as my monitor.
I was getting some random clicks in the recordings. I was writing that off to my setup since my sound module is so old. And, I was able to edit between takes to avoid the clicks. However, after cranking up my Marshall yesterday, I was getting more than the normal amount of clicks/static.
I did some quick searches. It was interesting that folks said the clicks/static would be more apparent with higher gain sounds which was true with my Les Paul and Marshall. I found the key when someone said "make sure your audio module is clocked to the Ox's spdif". I made the change, and the sound cleared up. Actually, I have to test it, but I thought the overall sound was more focused.
You all may be doing this already. I should have figured this out when I first did the connection. But, since I usually listen to the analog and recording time is probably 10% of overall playing time, the issue wasn't jumping out to me. I figured I'd pass the info along.

Mine is old. It’s an m-audio delta 1010. I’m surprised it’s working with windows 10. I’m prepping myself to upgrade when necessary although I’m also contemplating moving to apple.
Spdif clocking not as much an issue with newer ones?

There are forums on the UA website that discuss solutions regarding their product. You might post there?

I’m prepping myself to upgrade when necessary although I’m also contemplating moving to apple. Off subject a bit as I don’t have an ox, but I’m a long time Apple user and very pleased. I’m running Motu 828 with DP as my daw. Apple has introduced their new M1 chip which has me holding off on an upgrade, but I think it will be promising when 3rd parties catch up. Nowback to our regularly scheduled program.

We can stay off channel for a minute. As I've been researching which way to go next, I have to say I'm not finding reasons to stay PC. The latency with my current set up is great, but they don't make 'em like that anymore.
