Hi guys! I am thinking about buying a Two Notes Torpedo Captor (non-X) to record silently. I don't need the extra functions of the X because I only use IRs in my DAW (I am a sound engineer). I have got a 6545 and a Fender Twin. Since the Twin is a 4-ohm output, my question is: would you rather buy the 4-ohm or the 8-ohm version of the captor? Since i keep the chosen amp on during the whole session (often the whole day), i don't know if using the 4 ohm output of the 6545 could stress the amp more in the long term. (I wonder especially for the trafos) Till now, I always used it with an 8-ohm speaker with great joy. Would you rather use the twin with an 8-ohm load? Impedance mismatching for the twin would be no problem soundwise (with so many IRs that's not a big problem for me). No chance of buying both versions. Do you have any experience? Safety of the amps, first, then taste. Thanks a lot. Cheers.

Buy the 4ohm output and you will be able to use it with both. Just get a 4 ohm cab for the 6545 or if its a combo change the speaker to a 4ohms and you will be good to go. In the alternative if the 6545 cab or speaker is 8ohms, you wont be stressing the amp by going from 4ohms to an 8 ohms cab or speaker. The mismatch is the other way around 8 ohms output to a 4ohm cab. I used a 70s fender dual showman silverface for years with an 8ohm cab no problems at all. Buy the 4ohm captor I have the 8ohm version of the X
