Howdy,
The Z-Master and Route 66 have identical wattage and both sport big bottles. Which do you prefer and why.

The Route 66 has KT 66 tubes (Big bottle) and the Z Wreck has EL84's. The Z Wreck sounds very different than the Route 66. The Route 66 is like the best JTM 45 early Marshall and the Z Wreck is more Vox on steroids. Both are great amps!

Z-Master - swirling, thick, 3D sound. The 3x10 Combo is very special. You have to play one to understand how good they really are!

The closest I've probably come to either amp would be a Fender Custom Shop low-power tweed twin (40 watts) I test-drove years ago. It had smoooth, warm cleans and was indeed milkshake thick. I didn't dare turn it up at my local git-tawr shop, though!

If low-power tweed twin is a reference point, consider the Nova! "It is a twin-channel switching amp with a wonderfully rich clean channel, reminiscent of a low-powered tweed twin, featuring full bodied mid-range with great depth and harmonic content. Jumping over to the overdrive channel blends smooth, thick overdrive into the clean signal for a perfect blend of string articulation and fat distortion." Dr Z website
I love my Nova.

I second Mike's recommendation. The Nova is pretty special!
