But I got sucked back in AGAIN! Currently i'm running two "Shorty" stacks, a Ghia with a V30 and Doc's 10's and a Z28 with a CV65 or Texas heat with a 2x10 with one Red Fang Alnico and one Ceramic. I was sure after trying a bunch of speakers with the Z28 that that is what I was perfectly happy with the CV65 and occasionally switching to the Texas Heat if I needed a change.
What happened? Well a Red Fang 12" Ceramic popped up on Reverb for $60. plus shipping. The RF 12" Alnico is a great speaker and I love mixing with the CV65, but with the lack of a 2x12 that hasn't happened in a while. But i'm down with trying the Ceramic by itself with the Z28, I was very happily surprised with the Ceramic 10" Fan and can't wait to try it out.
The Alnico is just a little soft on the attack for me and the CV65 can be a little dark at times, so I'm hopping that this will be somewhere in the middle . It arrives tomorrow and I will promptly put it to work.

The Red Fang Ceramic 12 is in the house. BLEW ME AWAY from the first chord! With my Z28 I use a CV65 and a pair of 10" Red Fangs (one ceramic/one alnico). I have never been happy with just an alnico no matter how good I think the 12 RF Alnico is, I needed tighter bottom end and a little more chime without being harsh. So the combination of 10/12 speakers have been my go to. The Red Fang Ceramic does just that, it tightened up the bottom end and added a touch of chime without being harsh.
I want to BEG the Doc to put one of these in the new Z28MKII. I'M BEGGING DOC BEGGING!!
