Anybody have any experience with one of these? I'm talking the newer model with the single P90.

I have one, I purchased it July '19. I think it is a fantastic guitar. Beefy neck, lightweight, sounds like a great p90 guitar should sound. I also have a recent LP Classic w/P90's and the SG has a little more bite, growl and attitude. I was just playing it earlier as a matter of fact. SG-Fulltone Soulbender-Centura-TTE-Cranked RT66. It was a swell time...

Well, not technically the single-P90 "Junior," but I do have a relatively-new SG Special with the 2 P90's. If you've played any other Gibson standard-line guitars (not the Custom Shop or Historics, or whatever, which I've actually never played) then it seems to feel exactly like those. The feel of the neck (shape AND finish), feel of the fretboard, all that stuff... basically it feels a lot like my Les Paul Traditional Pro, which was built probably 10 years earlier.
I initially anticipated likely changing the pickups out for some Fralins; but honestly they're pretty good-sounding to me, and they're what I would expect from a P90. No plans to change it from stock at this point. I wasn't in love with the "lightning bolt" wraparound bridge at first, but... again, it seems to not be a problem. I would recommend, however, for tuning & intonation that you verify which wraparound will be on your guitar. If it's just the basic non-intonated stop-tailpiece, then there's a handful of better-intonated replacements that you could put on there.

I have a P-90 SG Std. I almost always am on the bridge pickup. But then that is how I am on most guitars. I could easily live with just the single pickup. It is a 2016 model. I hear nothing wrong with the stock Gibson P-90's. Other than the non-intonatable bridge I'll bet you are happy with the guitar just the way it is. That bridge though has to go.
I'm surprised you have not reported back on it.

UPDATE - well, this one didn't work out. I didn't like the neck carve so I sent it back to SW (great customer service BTW). Despite being described as a "slim taper" it was too thick for me. I hated having to send it back as I've never owned an SG or a P90 equipped guitar, so this one checked a couple boxes.

Yes--my SG Special (that I mentioned above in this thread) was also listed as "slim taper" neck, but it is definitely not. It wasn't a deal-breaker for me, however I can definitely understand how it could be for you. Sorry you had to deal with all that, but I'm happy to hear that Sweetwater has been so good to you.

I got a 2011 SG Junior. It has a wide thin neck. I struggle playing it.
I really like the look and weight of it. I keep tinkering with it, hoping I can get it to be more comfortable to play.
That's the problem with buying guitars without playing them in person first. The last guitar I recently bought, I got from a local guitar store (like the good old days). It felt good to support my local non-corparate custore.

Have you thought about getting a Les Paul Jr.? I've got an LP Jr. Special w/2 P90s that is a great guitar. The neck is nice, no baseball bat here. It's light and has that great P90 Leslie West growl.

I've looked into that Dave, but the description of the neck on the new ones is "vintage 50's". I'm thinking that will be too fat for my liking. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong model as the ones on Sweetwater have one P90. I'll keep looking.
