I bought this Z-Lux new and this is a wonderful-sounding amp, but when I play soft, in order to really appreciate the beauty, and the reverb is only 1/3 of the way up, there's just a tone of noise. Very noisy reverb. Have I seen this comment before? Is there a fix for this? My other amps don't have this very much if at all.
And sometimes I'd like to really subdue the treble (I already HAVE on my guitar tone knob), and turning the treble all the way down and even the middle all the way down is still a bit trebly. Is there a bright cap of some sort in this circuit, does anyone know?
Don't get me wrong, I still LOVE this amp. It could be may favorite amp I've evenr had and I've had a lot...
Thanks for your input.

bbutler356 - You've got a great amp there. After playing here in Austin for 20+ years, it's the best club and recording amp I've ever had. In short, the 'Lux is finicky about the driver and recovery tubes for the reverb. I'd check V3 and V4, and refer to the tube recommendations for the Z-Lux on Dr. Z's site, here: drzamps.com/support/tube-info/ . That's a good place to start. As far as being trebly, the tone controls on this amp are very interactive. Trying turning UP both the bass and middle controls a bit, then dialing the treble in or out as desired. Use your ears, not your eyes so much and see how that works. Cheers!

I always have the bass around 12-2, mids at 9-10, and I set the treble to taste usually around 9-11, higher if I’m playing at home. I’ve had no problems with this amp. Hov

May be a stupid question but have you tried the Lux without the reverb/treble pedal to rule that out? Mine was a little noisy but I tend to use other pedals anyways so I just stored it in a drawer somewhere.
