Hi everyone.
I have to ask, is it normal to lose preamp gain when plugging into the effects loop? I've been running some tests to use the effects loop on my Maz 18NR NKII, but it is a significant loss of preamp gain as soon as you hook up to the Send.
I should preface that I am attempting a 4 cable Method setup. Perhaps it is a tube, I'm not sure as there isn't any unwanted noise. Maybe this is normal but it is not my imagination.
Thanks in advance.

Hi when you get a minute let me know specifically what pedals you're using, what order you have them plugged in and what troubleshooting steps you've tried thanks Don Depew DRZ repairs

Hi Don,
Thanks for checking with me. So, I'm setting up a G-System (TC Electric) for the 4 cable method. I will have take a few to write out everything I have tried, and I can do that later and send to you in email. Maybe even a short video.
What I can say is that how the spec setup is based on the manual. Even with setting the unit at Max. Input gain and Max output volume you can notice it. Using TRS cables (per unit spec) and Line Shifter LLS-2 by Morley EBTech (also by-passed them to hear difference from the balanced and unbalanced and/or supposed impedance mismatch) According to the manual, the Send/Return of the G-System is Line Level balanced TRS. Since the Effects Loop is buffered I wast sure if Line shifting is even necessary, or if capacitance could be an issue
However, I have also tested with not going to the unit and just plugging into the MAZ Send without plugging into another pedal or closing the loop and there is loss of gain.
Thanks again, Don.
4 Cable Setup per G-System Manual: Guitar output > G-Sys input Amp Send > G-Sys Return Amp Return > G-Sys Output Amp Input > G-Sys Send
