Hey all! I’ve owned a Jaz 20/40 for a number of years and recently purchased a Route 66. I’m running it through a Brake Lite into a ZBest cab. The Route 66 fills the room with a very noticeable “hot electronics” smell when running at high volumes. The Jaz doesn’t seem to do this. I know it’s hard to answer “does my amp smell right?” in forum post, but... Is this something other R66 owners have noticed? Is there anything I should check on the amp itself? Thanks!

I forgot to mention that the amp sounds excellent and seems to work just fine! No issues there.

The RT66 into a Z-Best is a wonderful thing. I miss that combo, but age, weight and volume have moved me from that terrific combination. To answer your question, I don't remember any aroma, but it's been a while. Perhaps just burning dust off an amp that sat for a while: but I'm no expert. Enjoy.

Might want to feel the Brake lite for excessive heat. It might be cooking the resistor inside.

Id guess there is dust or something on the tubes and or chassis.

DC here!
Could it be the Brake-Lite that smells...?? (just a thought)
I have had my Route66 since 2007 -
don't recall ever noticing any particular smell...
Cheers: Dixiechicken!
