Been playing at low volume with the bypass fully engaged and always on. Is there a way to engage the bypass but not have the pedal plugged in? I thought I saw a thread that talked about this somewhere but can not find it... Thanks for the anticipated help!

Just plug in an open 1/4" jack. That would be a new unused new 1/4 " jack .

You don’t need a shorted jack like is necessary when going “always on” with the Trem/verb on the Z Lux?

Could you also just turn up the treble, bass and middle all the way?

Could you also just turn up the treble, bass and middle all the way? Tried that but it sounded different to my ears...

You don’t need a shorted jack like is necessary when going “always on” with the Trem/verb on the Z Lux? No, use an open circuit jack. Get a 90 degree right angle jack and you'll never know it's there. Connect nothing to the jack, just plug it in.

Could you also just turn up the treble, bass and middle all the way? That only gets you part way there. Plugging in the 'Boost' jack completely removes the tone stack from signal flow.

Coincidentally, my MAZ 8 recently sat unused for several months. The other day I decided to play through it and the tone was not what I remembered. I started making minor tweaks and it did not seem to help. Only when I finally turned the tone knobs quite a bit did I realize that they were not working at all. The Cut knob still was functioning. Ah-ha! I realized that the footswitch jack must be corroded and not making proper contact. I inserted a plug several times and the tone stack started working again. I don't use the bypass function so I may decide to jumper that jack or maybe just use a shorted plug.

Could you also just turn up the treble, bass and middle all the way? The tone stack is always filtering frequencies. And additionally, the treble is a blend, so the higher you crank it the more you are cutting bass and mids.

Could you also just turn up the treble, bass and middle all the way? Thats not the same thing as bypassing the tone stack.

As a brief update, been playing with the tone stack bypassed and loving it. Really making me pay attention to my pick dynamics and it’s impact on what I hear from the amp...
