I'm trying a new Alnico experiment with my Z 2x10 cabinet. I got a WGS G10A and put it in my cabinet with a Celestine Gold 10". The WGS is not broke in yet, but it sounds nice so far. The two speakers seem to blend nicely.

I approve of this experiment 👍🏻. I’ve heard great things about the Weber Blue Pup and Silver Bell 10” combinations.

I've got my cab mixed with an Eminence Red Fang Alnico and Red Fang Ceramic. I think the ceramics are worth their weight in gold, fantastic speaker.

I'm still breaking in the G10A speaker. I might have 20 hours on it. So far I'm still digging the sound of two Alnico's.
Though the Gold with Z 10" ceramic did sound good too.

I really like the WGS G10 c/s .... in general I’ve liked every WGS Speaker I’ve tried. Can you hear the differences between the 2 speakers? I’ve found it hard to do in a 2 speaker cab, but just curious.

I'd say with Z speaker in the cabinet there was a little more punch and crispness, for lack of better words. With the two alnicos, it's smoother, not as punchie.
I've been playing a lot of P90 guitars lately and I think the alnicos smooth out some of the bite of the P90's. Especially with clean sounds.

Mix them, its the best of both worlds. The Red Fangs Mix sound great, I have never been happy with 2 alnico's.
