My understanding is the z lux with 5881s becomes more powerful. Can I still safely use my brake lite in this configuration?

Howdy, trojanhov. I can't speak to the brake like application, but I've been running 5881s in there for a couple of years now, and have no plans to go back. I'd say any increase in volume with them is minimal, but I did notice a bit more clean headroom and more of a Fender on steroids kind of vibe to the amp. I've not done any measurements of current, etc., but I'll bet the Doc has and could tell us more. Just out of curiosity, with preamp and master volumes, why does one need the brake lite?
Hope you and yours are and remain healthy!

Brake lite allows me to get the master up a bit more.
