I watched this on dvd last night. Really great documentary even if it is mostly from Robbie's perspective and only covers the history of the band up until The Last Waltz.
Kind of a trip to consider that their first album made Clapton want to quit Cream and join them as the rhythm player.

I may have to give this a go - I love The Band. But I worry this will be like watching an Eagles documentary only from Henley’s perspective.

Saw Bob Dylan and The Band concert 1974 Hollywood Sportatorium, FL.
Ticket was $10.
As a teenager I thought, wow that's expensive.
Still have memories of a great show.

I may have to give this a go - I love The Band. But I worry this will be like watching an Eagles documentary only from Henley’s perspective. I suppose you can say that would be an apt analogy but there wasn't any bitterness. In fact, I think Robbie only speaks lovingly of everyone else in the band. I can't answer the question as to whether Levon deserved more financially or was otherwise mistreated and this movie doesn't deal much with the Band post Robbie. If you like the Band, I think you'll enjoy the ride.
