I built my Jazzmaster 10 years ago. The one thing that I've never done because at first the budget didn't allow it and then I haven't got around to it is putting a Mastery tremolo on it. Decided to finally pull the trigger a few weeks back. On check out I'm informed because of the virus longer than usual time to ship, up to three weeks. Never got a notice of shipping, so a great Friday surprise when it was there in the mail today!
Everyone decides the week was too much and head to bed early for Friday. WOOWHO, I get time to get the Mastery installed with the night to jam. Would you think I actually had a full set of electric strings in the house?!?!? Thanks a lot 2020.
Not too upset, but you better believe I'm hunting down strings somewhere tomorrow.

Congratulations. The Mastery vibrato unit is a first class piece of hardware, as are their bridges. I had both on a Marr Jag. Rock solid, great arm and action tension adjustments. I'm sure you will be happy with it. The only thing it doesn't have is the string lock button but I never have used that feature on my Fender units so I never missed it.

The Mastery tremelo is a great unit. I have had both the tremelo and bridge for some time. Find some strings and enjoy!

I have a Fender unit and the trem bar wouldn't stay in no matter what I did. About five years ago I found a guy selling the string plats with no vibrato unit at all. I've happen with that and it gave a better string angle to the bridge. I put the Mastery bridge on after about a year. It took me another 2 to find a tech who could set it up right, but once I did I loved the difference.

Glad you got it dialed in, Matthew...and I hate running out of strings. I decided a long time ago to buy them in sets of 10 or 12 sets, and I keep a set in the case of all my guitars too. It's bad to run out at home, but when you break a string on the gig you'd better have a spare!
I've been thinking about getting a Jazzmaster. I've always liked the look but I've never played one. I'm afraid that if I do I'll decide I 'need' one!

I'm afraid that if I do I'll decide I 'need' one! I played the Elvis Costello signature at a shop and feel in love. It had been sitting there a while so they were asking $1,000. Way more than I had spent on a guitar at that point in my life. I passed and decided a few years later to build one. I love it, but I kick myself for not having bought the Fender. Not only do I have more into my build, but those Elvis ones go for way more now. A lot depends on the set up with a Jazzmaster. You might do yourself a favor, play one at a Guitar Center. No way it will be set up right and you'll probably hate it. :-)

The only way to go with a Jazzmaster, double Mastery.

The only way to go with a Jazzmaster, double Mastery. I actually really like the modified Mustang bridge that I bought from Warmoth when I first built the guitar. I actually regretted the upgrade for a couple years because it took me a lot of asking around three different techs doing set ups before I found someone who could dial the Mastery in.

I agree, they do take some time and know how to get adjusted right.

I love offset guitars. My favorite offset Asher Marc Ford Model I drool every time I see this guitar! So gorgeous! I have an Asher lap steel that sounds amazing. I’m sure this guitar does as well.
