Anyone try the Tesla Brown Base EL34 in a SRZ65? I have a 2000 SRZ that I'm sending to Don over at Z to get a check up on. I'm sending a NOS pair of Tesla EL34s with it. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these tubes in the SRZ.
Also sending 3 NOS RFT 12AX7 and a NOS Mullard GZ34. Thanks!

Good Tubes will make a world of difference, Never tried those brand but my 96' SRZ-RH IS LOADED with all NOS Black Plate RCA PRES AND KT 77'S in the Power Section. It's worth every penny for the endless tonal possibilities this amp has to offer, THIS IS WHY IT WILL ALWAYS BE #1

I believe that is what was used in the first SRZ-65 amps. Should sound great. As for the preamp tubes, I have found that many of the 12ax7's today are crunchier and not as gradual from low to high (very popular to some). The high end though is not quite as clear and so I feel you may appreciate what you are putting in. You want that inverter balanced, so the recommended Sovtek 12ax7LPS is a good play and then tinker with the first two positions with your RFT's or some other NOS RCA's or GE's to your desired response, otherwise you can go nuts with the tube rolling. But Don will know, that's for certain.

I remember buying them in Marshall blister packs. Z
