So, I’ve got a Maz18NR and a 2x12 loaded with a Celestion Blue and G12H30. When I ring a chord and put my ear to the cab I really and I mean REALLY dig the tone of the blue, the G12 is nice but not the blue. The overall tone of both is fantastic but I wonder, what would two blues sound like? Would it be too dark? Painfully loud? Both or neither? Haha!!
Either way, those of you with too, lend me your opinion!

I know a guy with a MAZ 38 with two C-Blues in it. Fantastic sounding. As you can imagine, very AC-30ish. I believe I remember Smokin' Joe Kubek playing the same combination.

I had a Maz 38 Senior at one time and it had two Blues in it. It was glorious! You can't go wrong with 2 Blues!

You’re the first person I’ve heard reference Joe Kubek, I picked up Chain Smoken Texas Style for $3 at Walmart one day, best $3 cd ever.

Also check out the 38 video that Keith posted with two Alnico's. I have to say I have built may MAZ 18's with One Alnico Blue, that sound aMAZing . You do need to be careful with that 15 watt underrated speaker , but they do hold up as long as you don't get too nuts.

Back when I still had my Maz 18 NR head, I ran it a good bit with two cabs--one loaded with a Blue and the other with a Gold. Get that mother cooking a little bit with a Strat and man, that sounded good. The neighbors down the street thought so, too!

My neighbors aren’t near as appreciative of the tone but I think everyone is too scared to knock on someone’s door right now, haha!!

So, to your point, will the blue eventually wear out?

My Maz Jr Mk.II has a single Blue in it, and it's my absolute FAVORITE sound ever! Love it clean, love it slightly driven, love it being pushed with any drive pedal from a Tubescreamer, to a high-gain distortion....It's a thing of beauty!
I've tried other Alnico speakers with it: Gold, Cream, Ruby, Tone Tubby Red, Eminence Red Fang.....But, they don't sound as great as the Blue.
I never pushing mine hard enough that I'm afraid I'll blow the speaker, even at outdoor events - no need to.
A couple examples below.

I love the Blue/G12H30 combo as well but the thought of two blues is very tempting. Great tone in your videos and you’re right, that clean almost pushed bark is 2nd to non.

Telejas, Love the Green Day cover. The Alnico Blue is definitely " The Sound of Rock " as stated by Celestion. Sounds excellent in your MAZ 18 MKII.

About 10 years ago, I was gigging a Maz Jr head with a 1x12 openback cab with a blue. Awesome!
I played a gig where there was an acoustic solo guy out on the patio for an early show, and my band was inside after the solo guy was finished. Solo guy was REALLY freakin' drunk. (He was probably drinkin' while he was playing but really started guzzlin' after he finished.) He came in to listen to us, and immediately focused on me. Probably because I was the guitar player, but he kept commenting about the tone. (the place was practically empty) ...and then he says he wants to sit in, play my guitar/amp. No friggin' way I'm letting him sit in.

Given Doc's warning about using two Blues because of the 15w rating, there might be a compromise. I got an Alnico from hempopotamusloudspeakers.com/ that is 30w at 8ohms. He described it as being close to the Silver Bells that came in the 60's Vox amps. I have no idea about that, but it sure sounds nice in my Maz 18 combo. He might not have a similar thing currently in stock because it seems like his thing is reusing old baskets with new parts, but he was very interactive and a fun character when I had some questions for him.

Now there’s an idea, I need to watch some demos but that could be the route.
