I am interested in how the Cure sounds clean. I’ve checked out demos and the cleans sound pretty narrow with a very tucked bass, kinda lacking in the bass department. The highs seem rounded.
Cure owners... can you help describe how things sound in the Cure when playing clean with single coil neck pickups?

I would say that the Cure's cleans are squarely in the Blackface territory. I can't compare it to the Z-Lux, as I don't own one, but it will remind you Fender Deluxe style cleans. As a bonus, the Cure transitions into very smooth overdrive as you turn the Volume up.
As far as the bass, I've never thought it was lacking in bass. I actully keep my bass control down around 9:00. The Tone controls are your typical Fender styled controls, which promotes more bass and treble and recesses the Mids.

I’m with Russel on that one, never found a lack of bass. And, I ran mine with a Celestion blue.

+ 1 on no lack of bass. At gig volume I run mine with the bass around 10 o'clock. I use Strats and keep my Cure pretty clean (V=11, M+wide open). My speaker is a Lil Texas Neo.

I run my Cure clean, like no breakup at all clean and it's still loud enough to gig with a loud band. Sounds very Blackface, but a little like my Therapy too, which is supposed to be Tweed-ish. I'm sure if I tweaked it some it could get more Blackface. I'm using mine with an Eminence GA-SC64, which I think is the best speaker I've tried with the amp.

I think I may know were this question about Bass on the CURE came from. An A-Hole whose name I won't mention called me all excited and wanted the first CURE serial #1 , wanted to know what store may get it and pre-ordered from that store. He received the CURE and returned it in a matter of hours going on TGP stating it didn't have enough Bass for his taste. Dissing the amp and causing a problem on the TGP which I'm sure effected sales. He was so excited calling me multiple times couldn't wait to get it, then threw a wrench in the product release. It makes me wonder sometimes why do I answer the phone and try to help. I think this is where abandoned questions the CURE's Bass response , I may be wrong , but I don't think so. Z

An ol' guy like me has to find ways to make load in/load out as easy as it can be!

Z That seems like psychotic consumerism where your serious personal issues are projected on unknowing retailers. I just made that up but is seems accurate. That story just slays me

I think it’s really cool and stand up if you to chime in on here and help all of us out. I had actually never heard this story before nor read of others thinking the Cure lacked bass. I was merely inquiring about the Cure. I’ve been trying to listen to demos and decide if this amp could fit my needs, and in some demos it appeared to me that it might be a more tucked bass response by design or intent. I meant no disrespect sir and am sorry to hear this story.

I find the Cure one of Doc's most adaptable amps. It's got great blackface style cleans like Russell says, and with the volume and master controls cranked it gets a great snarly overdrive. The Level control lets it get very quiet without tone suck. Add the boost pedal to the mix and you can get a TON of tones out of that little amp. It's lightweight and very useable; it's a great grab-n-go amp. It's loud enough to play out and small, and it's even got a nice effects loop. It is just a fine amp.

I’ve had my Cure since April 2017, and I think that it is tremendously versatile;
Heritage Golden Eagle for jazz - got it Tele for soul band - got it Guild Blues Bird for blues - got it CS336 for variety jobs - got it
In short, not much to argue about from my perspective(s).

I like to set my Cure kinda dirty. With a Les Paul or an ES-335 I have the volume set around 11:00. With a Tele or Strat, it's set around 1:00. The amp can be set cleaner, but it always has a bit more "hair" than my Princeton Reverb Clone and original Vibrolux Reverb. The amp has decent headroom, but its edge of dirt sounds are so good that it'd be a shame to not set it with a bit of dirt.
Regarding low end, the Cure has vastly more bass than the Soldano Astroverb that I owned when I bought my Cure. I bought the Cure for an entirely different sound than the Astroverb, but it rendered the Astroverb useless to me so I sold it (the Astroverb). The Cure does not have an over abundance of bass, but it has a very effective EQ and can get a variety of sounds. It seems that if the treble is set too high, you'll never get the bass up where you want it. Turn down the treble and increase the bass and you'll get all the bass you need.
The Cure, a guitar and cable are all you need for a blues jam. I put a Strymon Flint in the loop, and, with P90s or humbuckers, the amp is ready for almost anything. I add a King of Tone in front of it with lower output guitars.

I moved from a plexi-inspired Category 5 to the Cure in my live rig and the response from the sound guy was “Wow! That thing really knows how to sit in the mix. I still love the Category 5 but the Cure is just the perfect amp for my current but socially distant project. In that project (high energy country bar band) I run the amp with boost engaged so it lives right on the edge of breakup and I can control how much hair is on the signal by how hard I flog my ride.
But now at home I have fallen in love with the non-boosted part of the amp. I have been sketching little standards inspired ambient loops (jazz changes in sound scapes... it’s as horrible as it sounds -smile-). Man, the cleans are awesome! So balanced and clear. It can really fill up a room. Sometimes I just gaze down at the little amp like I am Juliette on a balcony and wonder how does something so small play so big. (Get your minds out of the gutter gentlemen, this is a family show).
Cure cleans are amazing. Cure overdrive is killer. Cure punches like a heavy weight boxer in flyweight body which at 3:30 am I am blessing Dr Z all over the place as I jump my rig back in the house.
