Will do, man! Thank you! Just out of curiosity, do you have any theories? I'll reply back once the power tubes get in this morning, as well. I'm handy enough with a soldering iron, should it come to that.

I highly recommend not doing that unless Don or Doc gives you the ok.

Well I do agree with Lou. I have used over 500 of the Metro Effects Loop modules, only a couple had issues. It is possible the modules has an issue and needs replacing.
Until then plug your effects into the input which you state works fine, might help keeping you off the edge till it can be looked at.

It's mostly just a matter of being irked that I can't figure it out, and the effect sounding slightly better in a loop. Either way, no rush, my friend.

So, I went and ahead and fully retubed the amp for the second time.
I feel like I'm losing my mind here, but it seemed to help - A LOT.
It's odd that it took the second retubing, but the FX loop is almost the same level of quiet as without now.
I didn't change a single other thing.
Truly, truly strange.
I'll reach out if needed, but it's really acceptable now. This is using the exact same pedals / power / cables.

But I'm not really surprised because units that are tested and shipped from the factory are quiet. Z

I've owned quite a few of your amps over the last 12 or so years, and all have been as good as it gets, really. The Route 66 was REALLY something special, and I'll probably end up with another one of those. I'd buy it new if I could find one. Hahaha. Thanks again, brotha. Much appreciated.

Pretty sure Doc will build you one as a Legacy model (assuming the parts are on hand)... drzamps.com/info/legacy-models/
