Does anyone have one of the new 2020 models with the bass cut switch? The bass boost effect of the pre-2020 models was the only think I didn't care for about the ODR-1. I'm thinking about buying a 2020 model now!

Interesting. I have not seen that. Is it a full size or mini pedal? I have a ODR mini that I like a lot. I run a Boss GE-7 in front of my dirt pedals to cut below 400hz and at 1.6khz. Not all of the time. Just when I need it. I run the Spectrum control at 1:30 and like the bass boost most of the time. I have other dirt pedals on the board for more conventional tones so the ODR is a different kind of dirt. I also understand the the mini version has a little less bass boost than the ODR-1. And it is true bypass, whereas the the original version's buffer sucks tone. At least that is what I have heard.

I have one that I sent to XTS (Xact Tone Solutions) in Nashville. They have a very reasonably priced mod that significantly reduces the noise, and if it's an older one like mine, they can do a 9v conversion (mine was the 12v ACA) Highly recommended!

I have one. I think the bass cut is very useful. It works great in conjunction with the spectrum (tone) control. Which is unique as it raises treble and bass but leaves the mids the same (more or less). So running the spectrum high can lead to a boomy tone. The bass cut helps here. It lets you get more cut from the spectrum but without the big bottom.
It also works well with the spectrum control set real low. The pedal sounds mid forward that way, with the bass cut engaged it takes on a tube screamer type feel.
I think it's a great pedal.

No, mine is stock. The noise mod is on my list of projects-to-do. I only use it for solos so the noise is not noticeable to me though. Analogman does the mod for $50. That almost makes it not worth doing it myself, except for the shipping cost and hassle.

Update on how I run the ODR Mini. I have tried it running by itself into a fairly clean amp (MAZ 8) so all of the dirt was coming from the pedal. I now have a chain I like a little better. I run the MAZ 8 on the edge of breakup with the tone controls scooped, kind of like a Blaceface tone. I run a Barber Direct Drive into that set for a Marshall type grind. That is my normal rock tone. Then I push that with the ODR Mini when I really want it to sing. I have the Gain and the Spectrum controls at 12:00 which avoids the boomy bottom and I tweak the Volume as needed. I have a volume pedal at the end of the chain so the combination really allows me a lot of variation in dirt. I still have the GE-7 before the ODR Mini but never use the two together. The GE-7 only gets used when playing clean on neck pickups.

I got the new bass cut version today. I like it a lot. Actually, I can't hear much difference between the cut and standard modes. Neither one has the enhanced bass that I remember from the last ones I had. It may just be this particular pedal or maybe they tweaked the circuit(?). Either way, I like it.

So how is the "tone suck" when bypassed? Have you A/B'd it in and out of the circuit with the pedal off? I'm not sure why I am asking because the Mini is doing what I want. I should just be happy with that and move on to a couple of other things I want to upgrade. But when it comes to your dirt tone, well you know how it is. Glad it is working for you. The ODR dirt is kind of a unique sound. To me it has a certain amount of "trash" in it that others don't have but retains some articulation.

I have not done that yet, but if I use it in my gig board it will be in a looper, so I will report back.
