Hey guys! What brand of tubes is the Dr recommending these days? I need new tubes for my 18NR and the tube store recommends JJ’s but they burn out so quick or are bad so often..

Z's spec for tubes can be found at drzamps.com/support/tube-info/. V1 and V2 are spec'd as JJ. I like the new production Svetlana 12AX7's for those slots, otherwise I'm following the Dr's spec.

I've been going thru JJ tubes fairly quickly. I just lost a 12AT7 after only a few months of use. They're not the tube they used to be.

My choice for 12AT7 tubes is the JAN Philips (or any other JAN 12AT7). Very sturdy and they work well in driver and PI positions.
The reverb driver is tough duty for a preamp tube. It's driving a transformer into 8 Ohms impedance int the reverb tank. In essence, it's working as a power tube with a 1 Watt output.

The last higher end EHX 12T7 (forget full name)was put in my Mz beginning of February 2020...just changed it a day ago. I've had NOS 6201's last a bit over a year...I don't think thats so great, considering the cost. My Maz does get alot of use though. May try recommended JJ again. I guess tubes aren't made as well as they used to be, unless you use all NOS.
