Alright guys... talk to me about all things NOVA.
I’ve got a Victoria 20112 / tweed deluxe style amp. I love it. Lately been wishing I had more and better cleans.
I’ve been contemplating replacing it with a Nova. I understand that the Nova is tweed based to a degree.
Talk to me.
Nova owners (past and present)...
Are you completely satisfied? Pros and cons? Did you end up keeping it?
How tweed-like is it?
I’m running a Strat style guitar (PRS Silver Sky) and a Gretsch White Falcon.

There's a Nova head right now in the BST, and I'm pretty sure he's open to trades for tweed-style amps. Just FYI.
I do not own a Nova, but I did hear the demo at the last official Z-Fest. It sounded tremendous. Just lovely cleans and the OD was lovely. Everything you loved about the Galaxie, but with a much more useable OD channel. Buddy played a strat through it for part of the demo, and I don't think you'd be disappointed. I think that may be up on the YouTubes somewhere - take a look. Listen through a decent pair of speakers, then dial up the sound in your head by a factor of 1,000. Then you'll be close.

I own a Nova and am very pleased with it. You could do most any gig with it, a cable and your guitar due to the excellent OD channel Doc built into it. It also has a very good Master Volume that retains your tone if you need to turn up or down. Mine started off life as a head, but as you can see in the thread Nova Conversion Complete, I converted it to a combo using a studio combo cab I bought from the factory. Highly recommended!

My Nova head into a Z 1x12 convertible cabinet with the panel off the back sounds great. The channel switching is not currently working but I'm a little hesitant to ship it in for repair due to the haphazardly way UPS and FedEx handles gear. I am mostly running a Charvel super strat into a Marshall compressor, then Boss SD1 super overdrive, Keeley modded Boss blues driver, Wampler Pinnacle, MXR carbon copy,JHS Boing all going straight into the amp. I am getting a great sound out of this setup and the master volume makes it very usable from small to large stages.
