With all this whole family here in the house 24/7, kids not in school, wife not at work, my "loud time" has been cut bigtime. I generally play my Z28 at gig vol in my basement to an empty house. House hasn't been empty in over a week!
My 1x12 combo has a Brake Lite. I USUALLY use it at 1-2 clicks, and it's on more than not. I never use 4 clicks, think it sounds lousy. But 4 clicks is where I need to be to keep from getting served with divorce papers when she's upstairs on the couch. The struggle is real.
So yesterday, I took my Z28 on 4 clicks of the BL, found the best cleanish tone I could, then started turning knobs on the Z Drive. I ended up with some pretty GREAT low vol crunchy tele tone! Whatever frequencies, etc 4 clicks on a BL "rob from the amp" you can put back with a Z Drive! And the key IS the ZDRIVE. I couldn't do the same thing with my beloved old blue FD2. It stayed sounding dull and mushy. That all powerful Z Drive EQ along with the cut switches give you SO much tonal control. I might just get thru this pandemic yet!
