Is it possible to get the oval front from a JAZ on a stock Lux combo cabinet?

I miss the unique look of the brief oval front period. I understand the practical reasons for the change though. The oval front Jaz and EZGs were very cool. Good luck, post pics if you get it done.

There’s a Jaz combo cab on Reverb.com right now. I would think you could swap the chassis/speaker over no?

Is it possible to get the oval front from a JAZ on a stock Lux combo cabinet? Not really. The cabs are made differently. The oval front cabs essentially had two baffles. The normal speaker baffle is recessed to allow the separate oval front to be attached to it. You'd have to do surgery on it. Or find an older complete cab for the swap. I like the oval look and have one. The tradeoff, assuming you like the oval look better, is weight. The oval cabs are heavier.

I thought they might be different as the newer cab is lighter and as such the plywood is thinner, making for different dimensions. One of your pictures of the new Anderson with your JAZ in the background got me thinking....
