Has anyone tried Telefunken Black Diamond Tubes? They make a 12ax7 and an El84, apparently in partnership with JJ. I found the website here: www.telefunken-elektroakustik.com/shop/vacuum-tubesBut I can't find any information about the tubes anywhere. They seem like a higher quality JJ, and they are certainly priced higher....

Before paying $250 for one 12AX7, You should consider just buying a new amp, it's more economical.

The Telefunken’s above are $250 for a quad. I think the premium is likely for sorting and finding a quad that meet their criteria. They appear to be targeting the microphone market, and they can be pretty picky.

$226 for a quad of ECC83 matched tubes with balanced triodes. I'd have to hear them first before I spent that kind of money. I bought a bunch of old ANOS/NOS tubes 12-15 years ago, and I've had one fail since then. I'd be interested to hear them, but I'd only need one to test against a real one in the shop.

Howdy,
Tangent-alert: My '68 Vibro Champ has a Telefunken 12ax7. According to the amp's former owner, it's been there since '73!

That 12AX7 from 1973 is a REAL Telefunken. The others, not so much. Similar to what is being branded as Mullard recently.
