A good movie, a worthy watch. Not really a BIO pic.
I thought Won't You Be My Neighbor? was better.

Am I the only one confused about both of these movies coming out in the same friggin' year?

Mr. Rodgers was an easy target for me as far as making fun of his show - no one I knew watched him, but no one I knew could say a negative thing about him. My boys couldn't stand him either - not cool enough. But I gained a lot of respect for him as I got older. The recent movie with Tom Hanks was great as well as his defending PBS in front of congress back in the day when funding was going to be cut. I will have to look for this one.

I respect him as far as his body of work reaching out to children and as a person but he always bugged me, kind of like nails on a blackboard. I don't think I could watch a movie based on him, even if Tom Hanks was playing him.

I haven't seen the movies. However, while watching the Oscars on Sunday I saw that Tom Hanks was nominated for Best Supporting Actor. Huh? I was scratching my head thinking "Wasn't he the lead actor?" I'm now wondering who the lead was in the film.

It's not a BIO pic, it's a movie based off an article written by a journalist, and the movie is basically about him interviewing Rogers and how he changed his life. Kinda weird, but easy to get past.
