I've had a V-30 in there for six months or so and at first I really liked it. But then it got annoying. I had put it in looking for a little more top end brilliance and I thought it was the answer, but the more I played it the less I enjoyed it.
So today I put a WGS ET-65 in there and it sounds really good. Time will tell but I like it a lot more than the Vintage 30. Nice chimey high end and a firm bass, mids are just right for the Nova. Love the Overdrive on this amp and the ET-65 sounds great overdriven. But as time went on I went back to the G12H and it's been in there for a while now. It's staying.

And a couple of days ago I went back to the stock G12H30. Doc knows best. Again.

I like mine the best through the Greenback in my Z Wreck Jr combo. I wonder if the Z Wreck combo cab adds to that, but I can't try the Nova's chassis in it because the bolt pattern is different. Maybe I'll bet another Greenback for the Nova. I don't crank that amp to the point where I'd blow it.

They should be pretty similar, maybe the CB75 holds together better? .... of course perhaps you have head/cab and never tried the combo stock 30.

I was wondering how different the CB75 and G12H30 were too.

I was wondering how different the CB75 and G12H30 were too. I found he said this in another thread... "The best way I can describe it is just more of everything. No matter which guitar or pedals I use, the G12H-75 Creamback just delivers the goods. Tone is subjective of course and I'm just offering my opinion."

No disrespect, YMMV and all that, but now that i have my Nova I was able to compare these speakers and preferred the G12H30. The CB H75 sounded a little duller, otherwise very much the same. The G12H30 just sounded more lively to me. CB was in Z112 cabinet while G12H30 was in the combo cabinet. Tried with PAF style in a solid body and a tele with early 60s style A5 pups, straight in no pedals. Either speaker is a great choice.

So far the 12H30 has been my favorite or the one's I've tried: GB-H75, GB-M65, Celestion Gold but WGS G12A finally arrived yesterday. Will probably be a day or two before I can give it a good workout but I'll be back with my thoughts, as well as thoughts on the other speakers in the NOVA.

Will probably be a day or two before I can give it a good workout but I'll be back with my thoughts, as well as thoughts on the other speakers in the NOVA. The WGS G12A is a great speaker for sure! Seems pretty even with a lot of clarity. However, it did not really do what I'd hoped. I came to the Nova through a Harvard clone I have with 210 Eminence 1028's. That amp has a beautiful chimey clean tone that turns into a fire breathing monster with the volume cranked. I didn't get this at all and even when I tried the clone into the WGS. I plan to put the Celestion Gold in there. The 12H30 is definitely great and a little more clear in the mids with more bighting highs than the Gold but I like the thicker high end and little bit of extra chime that the Gold brings. As for the CreamBacks, (I tried the H and the M) in general they are very similar to the lower wattage speakers they emulate. I find they sound a bit darker and less lively but, of course, would be great for higher wattage amps that you'd like THOSE sounds for. So the 12H30 was a no brainer in comparison here. I really liked how the CB-M thickened the highs but the lows had a weird rubber band kinda sound I didn't dig at all. I did try it with a 25W GB that did not seem to have that problem. But of course I'd run the risk of blowing that speaker with the Nova's 30watts.

I know sometimes a new pedal or speaker hits me differently the first couple days I have it compared to my thoughts a couple months down the road.

Guess I missed this. I have gone back to the 12H-30 in this amp. Gold excellent too, just depends on what you're looking for. I did a gig with it with the Gold in and had 'er cranked pretty good but still cleanish. Sounded great! To add further options (decisions, decisions ha!) I ran the Nova through my Z-lux combo with the Z-12 and it also sounded great!!! Probably my 2nd favorite choice at this point but definitely pushes it in the American amp direction: compared to 12H-30, a little fuller through the mids with that nice Fender ringing in the highs. Real nice with my Tele

Same here. Into a Z 1x12 with the G12H30, I am a very happy guitarist.

Ok guess I’m still evolving but I’m still loving the WGS ET-65. Have the Nova in a head cab and the WGS in an open back by JDNewell

Neo-Creamback. Sounds great, saves 6 pounds in the combo. 97db also allows it to be opened up a bit more with less volume. ME
