My experience with Z's haven't all been roses, but the Carmen Ghia is so good it isn't even funny! Plugged into my Z 2x10, its amazing. The only thing I could ask for is MORE! LOL

I just got my third Ghia and it’s amazing. The first one sounded great but was trashed in shipping. The second wasn’t so special, but I think it probably just needed some tubes. Loving this one.

I took the Ghia up to my friends studio today to let him take it for a spin and to try it into different cabinets. He liked the Ghia as much as I do, such a stupidly simple amp that just sounds fantastic. The 2x10 sounds nice an muscular but I wanted to try it with some 12" speakers. He has a Marshall 2061cx cabinet with G12H30's in it. Man did that rock with this head! We also tried it with his oversized 1x12 and an Eminence Alnico Red Fang. Sounded good, but I liked the G12H30 better. I really need to find a "Shorty" cab so I can try some 12's.
Loving the Ghia!

Interesting, the G12H is not the speaker you normally hear associated with the Ghia. I’m using a cab with that speaker currently with my Ghia. I have an Alnico and have already pre-assumes that I’ll be putting the G12H back in the Maz Jr. with your feedback I’ll keep more of an open mind (ear).

If you are looking for a "Ghia Plus" look for a V1 Mazerati. Basically a double Ghia that Doc built as a request for Joe Walsh (he originally asked for a 100W Ghia but don't told him it was impossible to do).

I was thinking of getting a Z28 next, but I do love the Ghia and having one with more headroom would be another flavor. Maybe a little better with pedals and little more muscle for live use. What do you think?

Joshua (fishbeiner) had a 30th Anni Mazerati for sale at a very reasonable price recently. He may still have it. Doc used my Mazerati #001 as the basis of that amp.

When I say "Pedals" I mean boost and overdrive to go along with what the amp is giving me already. The extra headroom and wattage I would not be able to crank it open as much as I do the Ghia so I would supplement a little drive from a pedal or two. I was super surprised by the Ghia.
