First MAZ? I know Mike's got multiple variations from the early days, but not sure he has one of the prototypes. Good guess but nope!

Ok, I'll play ... the original Z-Wreck head that was given away at Z-Fest (of course, he may already own it!) kc No - but that would be cool to have!

Here it (they) are! The amp is the Carmen Ghia II Prototype #3. It was the link between the Hammond Organ chassis and Doc's own chassis. Doc also mentioned it was probably the only tweed amp to leave the shop (the tweed was courtesy of the original customer that purchased it as a grey chassis and built the case for it. It ended back up at the shop where it sat a while. Doc "rediscovered" it and thought it would make a great addition to the MuZum and I agree! While I wasn't able to play it at length I did find time today to hook it up to my ZPlus cabinet with a Blue in it. The amp definitely has B*lls!! Can't wait to AB it with its siblings! Here's a pic of an original Hammond chassis Ghia (red), the Ghia II prototype (tweed) and a production Ghia II (blond w/wood valance) This pic shows the above three amps along with a bit of a rarity - a production Ghia with a 12Bh7 tube. Also, notice the tone knob is labelled "Brite/Dark - pretty cool!

Sweet, Mike! I've got to make a quick drive down to Ann Arbor and do some comparisons with you...I've got to go to U of M Medical center next month or so for a minor procedure...maybe I could drop in that afternoon?

Awesome, great score for the MuZeum!! Here it (they) are! Hey, let’s figure out the power tubes, they look like a Soviet Union Era 6n14n?

Yep, cool to see them in a Ghia, I was curious if they had been in there from years past or more recent installs? I wanna think some of the early Z 84 amps may have had standard grade Sovteks, which at the time may been reflektor 6n14n (rebranded).

Is there anything different about this Ghia other than the chassis and packaging?

Congrats Mike. That truly is a “missing” (No longer) link. It really pulls the whole collection together 😃 Great acquisition.

I noticed this amp up on Reverb. The face plate caught my attention. I see that it matches a couple of your heads. It seems early, but clearly not super early. About what era of Ghia's had these front panel designs?
