It's a science fiction psychological film. It was written and directed by Alex Garland, who also directed Ex Machina (which was great too).
If you like scifi stuff, check it out. I thought it was fantastic.

I searched for it on Netflix...can't find it....and it's a netflix show?

Yeah, that's weird. I found this about it decider.com/2019/01/05/annihilation-on-hulu/. I have Spectrum cable and found it free on demand. However I'd have no issue paying for it. It was disturbingly creepy. Incredibly beautiful. Deep and trippy. When it ended I had the feeling of "wtf did I just see?". In a good way. I watched it again the next day to fill in some holes.
