So I can hardly talk and if I weren't leaving at the butt crack of dawn I would probably keep playing for hours right now. Like, this Analogman Sunface is mind blowingly great into my Maz Jr NR. I only had to time to play around with that for a bit and then finally plugged in through the board and did a Sun Face into Caroline Somersault. I could quit my job, life, whatever, and just play these two pedals together through my Z. I got a low gain, Red Dot NKT and it's soooooo good. Two questions. 1) Why did it take me this long to finally pick one of these up? ? 2) Did I run my KOT wrong when I had it? I understand that the KOT is a totally different thing than the Sun Face, but I didn't find the KOT all that special at all. I moved it on pretty quick. Now I'm wondering. This video from the guys from That Pedal Show not only sold me on the pedal, but really helped me trust Mikes recommendations about how to use the Sun Face.

I guess the sun face is only made for people who play single coil pups. otherwise, why would you make a 45 minute video, with a Les paul sitting right behind you, and never demonstrate how it sounds with humbuckers!!!

Ha, good point! To their defense, they seem to be authenticity tongue tied at the experience. I wonder if they planned on plugging in and forgot.
I was on singles when I posted this, put I had humbuckers into the Sun Face into the Maz when it arrived on Saturday and that also sounded pretty sweet. I’m gone for the week, but now I’m interested to do some a/b comparison.

runninwiththerevil (Matthew), I hear ya man. 1. Yes, the Sun Face is that good. 2. I don't know about the KoT, either. I also had one & sold it pretty quick--I just didn't "get it." And now, like you, I constantly wonder if I missed something with that pedal. And yes... Mike's suggestion of how to use the Sun Face (crank the Fuzz, and just use your guitar's volume knob to clean it up) is practically the only way to use it.

1.Don't know about the Sun Face--never tried one. 2.You're not wrong about the KoT. I think in its day it was the cat's pajamas, and is still good into a cooking amp, but it's dated now and there are lots of other pedals out there that are just as good or even considerably better without the ridiculous two-year wait time.

A little Germanium goes a long way in these boxes.

Yes I love me some fuzz pedals as well. I had the analogman sun lion. Great pedal! Right now I’m using a jam pedals fuzz phrase. It’s germanium and uses some rare transistors that clean up In a amazing way. Plus the fuzz tone is fat it’s real thick sounding. No bee buzz or harshness at all. You can’t go wrong with the analogman Fuzz pedals though. I also tried the kingtone mini fuzz by Jesse Davey. Chase tone has a new fuzz out called the fuzz fella it’s silicon based. That might be a good fuzz to check out.

Only way I'm checking out other fuzz pedals is if I move the Sun Face on, but I don't see that happening. You know, because I'm happy with my pedal board. (we'll see how long that lasts)

I can't speak to fuzz as I've never been able to get on with any of them (haven't tried an AM one though).
I can speak briefly to the KOT, of which I'm on my 3rd, having sold the first 2. Much like I'm reading here, I just didn't get it. What finally turned the light on for me is when I started to view it not as 2 separate pedals or "sides" but as one OD pedal where I kept both sides on and both sides set internally to the OD setting. I now look at it as a six knob single OD pedal (I run it in a looper). Set up this way, neither side is set too aggressively, but together it's quite good (for me). My take FWIW. BTW, I've been on the list for another one since July 2017, so the wait is nearly 3 years now.

I got back on the list in ‘18 and then thought to see if I could still claim one from when I got the email but passed years prior. Turns out once you get notice your up you stay at the front of the line until you order. I’m still a way off so I don’t know if I’ll go for it or not when it hits again.

I have bought several fuzzes. My favorite was my first: a Systech, though I have a Pocket Weasel now that is similar. I have trouble making the fuzzes sound good to me, though I quite like how others use them.
