I was kindly invited to sit in for a few tunes at a gig with my old band last month. With my longtime buddy and bandmate Bill Shea , I was using his Maz 8 head and old school Z small box cab , Bill playing thru his Maz 8 Combo. I'm playing my reissue Fender '68 Paisley Tele. I had a great time , thanks again Bill! Beatles "Can't Buy Me Love"

I guess the obvious question is - why didn't Bill do The Beatles "Birthday" song? Maz 8 's are great and that looked like a ton o fun - thanks for sharing (and nice to see Frank back).

Hey, that sounded great ! Nice job. The Maz 8 combo didn't look like it was miked. Do you happen to know where the volume knobs were set ? My Maz 8 only gets played at home. I'm curious as to how close I am to gigging volume.

Nothing was miked. Tiny little bar that told us before we started playing that the vocals were too loud. We had everything dialed way back. Lower than what I play at home. Thank the good Lord I didn’t have my Mazerati GT!

Thank the good Lord I didn’t have my Mazerati GT! I answered an ad to be the host Blues Band for an open mic night a number of years back at the same spot. Not only is that place tiny, but unless they did some reno's, I recall it basically being all tile and bouncy surfaces. I used my Maz Jr with the air brake either on bedroom level or one click up. Our run ended due to volume. Although, I have to say the folks working there were pretty nice. Anyway, it sounds good. Good Beatles vibe especially on the solo. Still kicking myself that we couldn't swing by, but that was Christmas Tree night.

Mike this was at the Brickette - fairly good sized dance floor , adjacent table area that rolled back to a pass-thru bar and front area , acoustics were fine and a nice stage. Must have been remodeled if it's the same place you were mentioning. This vid was done by my wife with my phone

Actually, it was probably lack of crowd size that also made the volume challenging. Open Mic Night was on a Monday or Tuesday, and the crowd (or lack there of) was mostly musicians. It seemed like it could be a very cool place with a crowd. As I said, the folks that worked there were pretty nice to talk to and nice to us. So, it was a fun night to hang. You guys look good playing! And, sound good too!

Great job, fellas! Love that song, and you nailed it. Dig the tone of the Maz 8's, mine's never let me down. Wish we could get together and jam...
