My son got me a pedal cable kit from these guys for Xmas - what a treat. I’ve read a lot about these, and installed them today. Very easy assembly and immediately secure. Each connector is SMALL and can be used straight or right angle - excellent! The cable itself is very small diameter and flexible - easy routing under, over, and through my Rock Board Quad 4.2. Really makes routing and laying out the pedals easy. Tested out fine, no affect on tone. Band practice Wednesday so we’ll give it the full run then. www.3monkeyssolderless.com/pages/about-us

I had an original Greasemonkey in Red suede with matching 2x12. Very nice amp. Quite loud.

Solderless cables are nice for setting up a board and finding out EXACTLY how long they need to be. I use them for that also. However, for LONG term reliability nothing beats a solder joint.

Everything breaks, but I have to disagree with you. These are the best solderless i've used, no tools, no extra parts, you just screw the cable into the ends. The sharp thread cuts the jacket making the ground and holds the cable in pretty much forever. I've pulled them, stretched them, taken them off and put them away, pulled them back out made a different board with zero issues. You will be surprised on how well they stand up.

Over many years, the few pedalboard cable issues I’ve had have been with soldered cables - not that I soldered but cheap ones with bad soldering. I’ve never had a problem with George L cables, and the 3 Monkeys cables are more secure than George L.
I suppose a solder joint done by someone that really knows what they are doing and takes their time would be a great long term result. That standard, unfortunately, eliminates many manufacturers and most players, and generally requires a larger connector (as compared to the 3 Monkeys).
I would agree a soldered guitar or speaker cable is the way to go as those cable tend to get treated roughly. My pedal cables don’t get yanked around much at all after installation.

It is the actual metal to metal electrical contact that degrades due to corrosion. It is slow and insidious. I'm speaking from my experience repairing amps. I've had players bring me amps that were misbehaving and all I did was clean all the contacts (switches, jacks, tube sockets) and pots and the gremlins disappeared. There have been MANY discussions here about those problems and the use of Deoxit to fix them.
