I thought I would toss this out to the collective amp gurus... I want to replace the coupling caps in a 5E3 that I built several years ago. Does anyone know what type/brand the good Dr uses in our Zs? I am replacing the .1uf caps with (probably) .047uf/600v to reduce the low end a bit but am looking for suggestion about which brand, etc, folks may have used. Any info is good, thanks...

If you only have two to replace I would use something like this; Sozo link

I chose to go with Mallory 150's coupling caps when I built my 5e3 last year and I'm very happy with the sound. www.tubesandmore.com/products/capacitor-mallory-630v-150s-axial-lead Some people prefer Orange Drops in those positions. Dr Z has used orange drops in the past from what I recall in an interview he gave in The Guitar Amp Handbook (Dave Hunter). But those were made to Z's spec, and it's an old interview.
