Anyone out there using their Maz 18 with the UA Ox Box for cab/mic emulation? I have been using the Ox for a while now and love the tones I can get out of it with all of my amps. I am currently using the "Black GB30" cab emulation with my Maz 18 which is basically a 30 watt greenback G12H and it sounds pretty good. Also like the "Black D-Lux" which is a ceramic Jensen sound and the "White 75" for higher gain. I have the 18 head but I know the Maz combos come with the G12H 30W 70th anniversary. Any recommendations for setting the Ox to emulate the anniversary speaker and what are people's favorite speakers to use with the Maz amps? Thanks in advance.

I've been using the Ox. I am definitely a fan. I have a Ghia and Maz Jr. I can't help on what to choose to cop the G12H. I basically dial through the cabs and just land on something I like. The 4x12 Greenbacks seem to get the most use.
My old recording setup was running my amps into a Randall IsoBox with one Greenback. I guess I'm partial to Greenbacks. When I first fired the Ox up, I was trying to dial in my IsoBox. It finally dawned on me that the AU engineers might know more than me. So, I started to use their presets for mic combinations and haven't looked back.
For me, the magic is really the room mics. When I pop on my headphones and dial the room in, it almost feels like I'm playing in a room.
Enjoy! Good to see another Z user using the Ox.

UA makes great stuff ... have their mic pre-amp in my voice studio. What does the OX Box do? Just cabs? Does it power attenuate?

The Ox has an analog and digital side. It attenuates to a connected cab on the analog side. The digital side has cab emulation and mic emulation. You can put two close mics and add room mics which then go through EQ, compressor, reverb, and delay. This is then sent to a spdif out or analog line out. There is also a built in headphone amp which is great for silent practicing with full attenuation. This is the first time I've really liked my guitar tone in headphones, mostly due to the quality of the room mics. The system uses proprietary processing instead of IR's. It sounds better and feels more responsive to me than IR's do. Highly recommended.
