I am shopping for a new Z amp. I have had a few DrZ's in the past (Maz 38 MKI, RT 66, and early Ghia) but have since been playing home brew amps for the last 10 years or so. Anyway I'm looking again.
I'm looking for an amp that can sound good a pretty low volumes (backing up a singer songwriter type) but also be able to hang with a drummer (not super loud drummer). The ideal amp would not be too midrangey, have a fairly solid low end and highs that can chime a bit. Would have to do well with drive, fuzz and delay pedals. Alot of what I do in bands is color the songs with arpegiated chords / notes so it's important to me that the top end sounds 'pretty'. The low volume solution is key as I have several other amps I am happy with at rock band volumes but nothing Ive been happy with at the lower volumes of today's live music scene.
I have been very intrigued by the Z-Plus as it seems to check all these boxes. The new Jetta seems really interesting too.
Does this amp exist? I know this post is in the Plus section as it's the ones I think I am most interested in but definitely open to any other model.
Thanks!

I’ve not had a Nova but do have a Z-Plus and Maz-8. The Z Plus is my favorite amp of all I’ve tried! It sound amazing at low levels and has plenty of power for any of my needs! I have played in churches that seat 30 or so to some that seat over 300 without needing to be mic’d. The Maz-8 is my second favorite and can cover just about the same volume needs. They do great with drive and delay, I currently is an HX effects straight in, the reverb in the Z -Plus is the best I’ve used, I often find myself playing with the HX bypassed it’s that good! I’ve had some great amps and these by far fit my needs the best!

The Z-Plus is a fantastic amp. I have been locked into an SLOstortion pedal and it sounds great with a rocking Charvel!

Z-Plus owner here...I’ve owned 2 Maz 18’s (Reverb and non reverb), a Maz 8, and a Monza. All are great, but the Z-Plus is special. It’s so great, that I let go of some great amps because they weren’t getting used. It really can do all the things you suggested, and much more. Especially with the half power switch...it’s really a do-it-all amp.
