Hey there, New to the forum. Just acquired my first Z. I got the Prescription "combo" 2x12 and was wondering if this is the RX, there is nothing on it suggesting RX or ES. Must say I'm loving it, so much so that I ran out and got a Monza within a week. I have a feeling I'll be hangin' around for awhile.

Welcome to the forum. If you have one like the picture below, it's an early original RX. The Extra Strength (& Jr) was a newer design collaborated between Doc & Brad Paisley and is a completely different circuit.

Welcome to the forum. If your amp doesn't say extra strength, it's most likely a 1st generation prescription.

You happened upon the greatest amp ever made...seriously. Never part with it, as you'll never find anything else quite like it.

Wow, I was not notified of the replies to my post. Thanks to the welcoming committee. Yes, the picture above is the Amp I acquired, and it's not going anywhere. The Monza on the other hand didn't make it, although I was beginning to really like it but it took some warming up to. However with the departure of the Monza.................I scored a Maz Jr mki NR, and I can't seem to lose this smile. I truly think I may never buy another Amp again, these 2 bring me to a total of about 7-8 amps total, I now have every sound I could imagine. Here's a question for ya'll, reverb suggestions? I got a Wampler faux spring, it OK at best. Then tried a TC HOF, hate it. On to Neauber WET, this one is the best of the three but not as traditional as I'd like. I have a real 64' fender reverb unit, just not sure I can get that sound in a stomp box. As good as these Z amps are I want as good a reverb sound to compliment them. Thought?

I was looking at both of those, my reverb won't live on my board as it'll probably be an always on kinda deal. Thanks for the suggestions.

Welcome to the forum, brother! We're glad you're here!!! I use the Strymon Flint. Great, believable reverb (with trem/vibe thrown in to boot)! Pricey, but well worth the money...Many guys/gals here use the Flint with their Z's, and like me, keep it welded to the pedalboard!
