Hey everyone, I am new to the forum and a new Carmen Ghia (head) owner. That being said, I couldn't be happier!
I am blown away by the sound of this amp. I am running it through a 212 open back cabinet loaded with Celestion V type speakers (140 Watts RMS @ 8 ohms) Man did my volume go up when I plugged in the Ghia! I had been running a Fender Super Champ X2 (clean channel) through this cabinet and getting what I thought were great tones until the Ghia arrived.
I am getting such great clean tones up to 12 o'clock with just a little breakup. So running my TS9 and Soul Food OD pedals gives me a great sounding platform when I need OD at a "friendly" volume or beyond (haha). This amp takes all my pedals well, with such sweet sounds using chorus and/or delay. Sounds excellent with my Gibson Les Paul, Gibson SG, Fender Telecaster, and Fender Stratocaster. From Country to Rock, the Ghia can serve multiple platforms and satisfies whatever mood I am in when I fire it up.
I also have a Celestion 10" speaker cabinet (Vox mini Super Beetle). I ran the Ghia through that and got the sweetest breakup around 10 o'clock and at 1-2 o'clock the power tubes were pushing out one sweet tone. The Ghia makes me "feel" my playing in a way I haven't before. It's hard to explain. Maybe you guys know what I am trying to say.
Any way, I look forward to gigging with the Ghia and getting to know you guys. Just wanted to say hey and let everyone know how excited I am to be a Z-owner.

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on the Ghia discovery. You made a great choice and will no doubt never need to retire that amp!

There's nothing like a Z amp. Welcome to the forum, it's full of great people and info.

Those V-type speakers don't get much attention from the gear community but they're really good. Part Greenback, part V30, and a whole lot of Gold... plus 70 W handling. Glad you like the Ghia, byrdman--I bet it sounds awesome through those speakers, too.
