We did our benefit gig two weeks back. Long story short is that I originally thought it would be a solo acoustic gig, then heard we'd have a large stage, recruited the band, then heard the large stage was for the main festivities & not us, we would be on a tight 8x8 stage outside, and finally determined the band was still the right fit. So, since it would be tight and we didn't know whether volume would be a concern, I decided to go with my Strat-->Ghia-->Ox-->PA. It was my first time ever not playing with a guitar amp/speaker rig. It worked. I think my guitar sounded pretty good. I used a Marshall Celestion Greenback 4x12 cab with a little room. I was only hearing the guitar through my monitor, and the crowd was hearing it through my QSC K10s. The only bummer was that I had to stash my Ghia on the side of the stage because it was so tight meaning that there would not be a 'Z Amp' sighting. No one could see it. Check out the video. The highlight is actually our keyboard player, Larry, killing the final solo. I am now a believer that I could go with just an Ox. Could a Kemper be far around the corner although I love the simplicity of Ghia-->Ox?
