I'm honestly surprised I haven't had a tele yet, but that is going to change. I just scored a tele body off ebay. It's a thin skin nitrocellulose lake placid blue 60's standard body from 2007 that at one point had a bigsby on it. Which is perfect because I was already going to put one on. It's got some honest wear on it, not a faked relic job and the finish has yellowed some. I'm really excited to start piecing it all together.
I just ordered the pickguard and some of the hardware. Next month will be the neck (from warmoth. I've got another neck from them that I finished myself and it turned out really great) and the rest of the hardware (callaham tele bridge for a bigsby and Glendale groovy 60s steel saddles) and November will be the pickups (seymour duncan antiquity IIs) and then it'll all be done and ready to roll.
in the meantime here's the inspiration:

just had a painting sell so I'm jumping in all at once. Got the rest of everything ordered today.
Callaham bridge for a bigsby with compensated brass saddles Seymour Duncan Antiquities II 60's Twang Pickups Emerson audio pre-wired controls Warmoth Neck: maple with indian rosewood board and cream dot markers Boatneck profile 10-16" compound radius 6105 Stainless steel frets Graphtech white nut
I've already got a B-50 bigsby from another guitar that I'll put on it and will get a Vibramate Spoiler will probably upgrade the spring.
Parts should start rolling in this week so everything should be wired up and assembled really soon. I'll just have to wait on the neck to be made.

yea I think this will be really cool. The rest of the hardware and electronics will be here by Monday. Then I'm just waiting on the neck. It's going to go together pretty quickly!

Update: The neck came and I got it finished and it's all assembled. I had to shim the neck a little but it plays as smooth as butter now. I've gotten to play it at a few rehearsals and gigged out once and I think this is easily going to be my number one. The antiquity II pickups are super bitey so rolling off the tone a little and pulling back some treble on the amp has been a must but I definitely don't have to worry about if I'm cutting through the mix. The nice thing too is that it's helping me focus on using my volume and tone controls more and pedals less for changes in gain and tone. My only complaint is that it's not quite holding tune as well as I would like so I have a taller Bigsby spring coming and hopefully, that will help push it all back into place better, I probably need some "nut sauce" too. I'm working on getting some good pictures so you can see the finished product. It wasn't my best finishing job on the neck but it kind of works with the beat-up body and honestly the neck feels really great so I'm not fretting it too much (pun intended)

Nice build. I like Bigsbys but I had trouble finding either a Bigsby tele or 335 that stayed in tune. I finally had a Bigsby tele custom made and it is rock solid so I know it can be done. Still have not found a stable Bigsby 335 but I keep looking. I hope you get your tuning issues worked out.

Cool looking build. I added a vibramate T5 set up to a MIM tele recently and it's been a bugger ever since. won't stay in tune, needs a shim and had to add notched barrel saddles b/c strings were moving when played. Going to try a few tweaks then it may come off if not sorted out. Yours sounds like you're close to getting it dialed in. Looking forward to seeing the pictures and reading what you did to solve intonation issues.

I would if I ran into one. I pretty much try any full body semi hollow (or fully hollow) body with a Bigsby that I run into, regardless of brand as long as it doesn't have a varitone and isn't a sunburst.

dang, I thought I had posted a picture of the finished product! Here's a picture back from when I finished it off: Here's a video from christmas party we did this last december, I'd rather show some of the cooler songs we did, but I can't find those videos
