I thought I had purchased my very last amp a couple years ago when I got the 1x10 Carmen Ghia. Well I was wrong! I've been having a lot of fun with the Ghia, but when I got the HX Stomp I quickly realized that running time-domain effects into the front end only works out well if you always use the same guitar and always set your amp volume the same. Any changes of either and the reverb level goes up or down. Unfortunately, the Ghia doesn't have a loop, so I was kind of stuck if I want any of those time domain effects.
So I started searching, and stumbled on the Nova. Holy smokes - the demos I'm seeing just blow me away. Especially the cleans. You go out and watch a bazillion amp demos and most of them start off with metal levels of distortion, and if they ever manage to demo the cleans, it's just an afterthought.
Not this amp. The clean tones are prominently featured, and I'm happy to say that even on recordings you can tell they sound like a bell ringing. Dang! But then you switch on the second channel and another layer of neck hair pops up.
So I pulled the trigger. This amp has that new loop after all, and should be a perfect fit for my HX Stomp and my new Firebird. So Sweetwater gets the nod again, and I'm pleased to see they can get that amp to me by Friday even without paying extra. Not bad!

That Lance Keltner demo had me trying to think of everything I could sell to get a Nova - killer demo. I do love what I have though!

Steve, you will love the Nova. It's one of my favorite Z amps. Combo weighs a bit less than a Z-Plus in studio cab. Amazing amp for home and gigging. I use a Strymon Flint in the loop. You'd be hard pressed to tell the effects were not built in.

Thanks Steve. I know you'll love it. Z Well you're batting 1000 on that score, as I have not bought one Z amp that I didn't immediately like. Yeah, I don't have some of them any more, but you can't try 'em all unless you let some go (with some notable exception characters hanging hereabouts). Thanks for building the most interesting and best sounding amps in America. Well now, wait.... I do believe I can say "in the WORLD" and be fairly justified.
