If I really like my Therapy but want to reduce the output, does changing the output tubes to JJ 6V6 really change the overall sound much? Would I get closer to the sound of the Therapy with 6L6 tubes using a cure vs changing the Therapy tubes?
If I went with the Cure, I would be putting the Cure chassis in a Maz head cab and using a Z 1x12 in open back configuration.

Much is a relative term. When I used 6V6s in my Therapy it did sound different than the 6L6s. I've also used 6CA7s and currently EL34s. Each makes the amp sound different, but underneath it all it still sounds and responds like the Therapy but with that tube difference. With the 6V6s I found the amp was quieter, had more mids, a little less lows, and broke up sooner.

Agree with headshrinker (Marc) — I’ve used 6L6, KT77, and currently EL34 in my Therapy. Each definitely sounds different but it still sounds like a Therapy.
