Anyone using one of the new Holeyboard Zig, or Big Zig, with or with our the Zag? I'm using one of the older wood wide Holeyboards and love it, but considering trying to downsize the board and that 20" Big Zig looks nice. Fastening pedals with zip ties is just wonderful -- way better/easier than Velcro, IMO.

have not tried or even heard of the new boards but I do like that they have moved to aluminium, that was a good move.
i have an older wooden board that i sort of regret buying. i didn't find the zip tie method very good... it's very awkward trying to zip tie odd sized pedals so i reverted to velcro. Then there's the issue of transporting the board which, when fully loaded with pedals, is heavy and next to impossible to get into their soft case. (actually threw my back out once loading the board in the bag) They should have made the case with dual zippers to make it easier to load and unload. The other feature I thought would be helpful (the dual levels) turned out to be not helpful. It's actually harder for me to activate switches on the top level because of the weird angle of the pedal in relation to my foot. anyway... since you like the zip tie method, i hope it works out for ya.

The size of the wooden board is what’s getting me - but that’s a self inflicted injury. Reducing pedal count and going with a smaller board is the goal.
The zip ties work for me - most of my pedals are rectangles so it works. My Peterson StroboStomp is the exception, and that was a bit wonky to zip tie. I fixed that by getting a PolyTune.
I agree also on the carrying bag, but my experience is once a pedal board grows beyond about 4 pedals you have a case problem. And they are all heavy.
I really like Chris’ innovations with the Holeyboard line, and his prices are much better than, say, pedaltrain.
We’ll see what happens. The real answer is a roadie/tech 😁

I have a holeyboard. Not a zig zag. But have to say I love their designs. No issues with getting pedals tied down.

I have the zig and zag small board. My power supply doesn’t fit under it, because of the cable connections. But other than that its a nice clean board.
