So today I bought an MXR Phase 95 micro phaser. It's tiny, has buttons for Phase 45 or Phase 90 style shift, and also a 'Script' button. One knob control like the old ones...and it sounds really good. Definitely check it out if you're in the market for a phase shifter.

Hell yes. I bought the same one from a Z brother, and you’re right. You don’t need it often, but when you do it’s glorious.

Lol, I thought I was going to see you cosplaying as Captain Kirk 😀
The little MXRs are cool. I should get one but the EVH Phase 90 is still on my wish list (if for nothing than the graphics) so that'll likely be something for me down the road. I already have the Phase 90 so the Phase 95 would make more sense/options but when does logic ever come in the gear equation.

Has anyone ever owned the big clunky Maestro phase shifter with the rocker switches? It was the ultimate tone-sucker when off but sounded good when on. It was so bad I had to unplug when not using it. I didn't know anything about buffers back then and, of course, there were not any available at that time. The cool thing was that it slowly morphed between speed settings like a Leslie.

i still have my phase 90 script logo from 1976ish... the same one Page and EVH used. and it still sounds exactly as it did then.

I have the Phase 95 and it is great. I also have a Analogman modded Phase 90 which I really like as well.

I think I also unplugged it when not in use. It was the only effect I ran into my Plexi stack. Haven't had a phaser since. May have to revisit that pedal.
